Cartoon competition in Antalya.

The cartoon competition, held in Antalya for the first time in 17 years, was started in Alanya in 2001 and suspended in 2008. This year, in cooperation with the Alanya Municipality and the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), the competition was held for the ninth time after a 17-year break.

This year, in cooperation with the Alanya Municipality and the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), the competition was held for the ninth time. It featured 481 cartoonists from 66 countries with 1,071 works.

The jury included Cihan Demirci, Ferit Avcı, Feyzi Açıkalın, Halit Kurtulmuş, Kamil Yavuz, Meral Onat, Nahid Maghsoudi, and Nimet Hacıkura. Also, the jury included the master cartoonist Musa Gümüş, who passed away a week ago. In his honor, a special award was presented, and special awards were given in memory of the late jury members Deniz Som, Bedri Koraman, and İbrahim Tapa.

The winners of the competition received cash prizes and holiday packages to Alanya. The Deputy Mayor of Alanya, Murat Levent Koçak, noted that the winning works will be showcased at the 23rd Alanya Culture, Art, and Tourism Festival and emphasized that the municipality will continue promoting the city internationally through cultural and artistic events.
