An overstay occurs when you exceed the allowed duration of stay in Turkey. Upon departure, you must pay a fine; otherwise, you may face a re-entry ban lasting several months or even years.

1. Check-in: If a fine is detected, you will be directed to the police.

2. Police Station: Your passport will be confiscated, and you will receive a copy along with the fine amount.

3.Paying the Fine: Payment must be made in Turkish lira, and it can be processed at the designated cash register.

4. Receiving Your Passport and Certificate: Once the fine is paid, your passport will be returned, along with a certificate.

Tip: Take a photo of the certificate – you may need it when re-entering Turkey.

Important Notes:

  • It is not possible to pay the fine in advance or online.
  • Only Turkish lira is accepted; no other currencies will be accepted.
  • Adhere to migration regulations to avoid complications during your travels!
