How to Obtain a Work Permit in Turkey with a Residence Permit
To obtain a work permit in Turkey, find an employer who will apply to the Ministry of Labor. Required documents include your residence permit, passport, diploma, and employment contract. After approval, you’ll receive a work residence permit and be registered in the social security system. A work permit cannot be issued without a tourist residence permit.
How to Obtain a Work Permit (Çalışma İzni) with a Residence Permit (VNZ) in Turkey
1.Find an Employer
- A work permit can only be obtained through an employer, not independently.
2. Employer Submits the Application
- The application must be submitted through the Turkish Ministry of Labor website: www.calismaizni.gov.tr
3. Required Documents
- Copy of your residence permit (İkamet İzni)
- Copy of your passport
- Diploma or other relevant educational documents (if applicable)
- Employment contract with the employer
- Employer’s documents (tax number, company registration, etc.)
4. Application Processing
- The Ministry of Labor will process the application within up to 30 days.
5. After Approval
- Once approved, you will receive the Çalışma İzni, which also serves as your work residence permit.
- Your employer will register you in the SGK social security system.
Important: Without a tourist residence permit (Kısa Dönem İkamet İzni), you will not be eligible for a work permit in Turkey.
